This book is nothing but a scam. Poorly produced, no index, many typos, and many wrong info. No wonder the book doesn't even have a genuine author name. You'll be better off with books such as " R in A Nutshell", "R Cookbook", "Using R for Statistics". There are also free R ebooks available on the Internet. Please don't waste your money as I wasted mine.

I agree with other reviewers that this book is a complete scam. This is a terrible book. It is a self-published, print-on-demand title. The author/publisher is identified only as "Acodemy." It is not a step-by-step guide to R Programming. It is a collection of the author's incoherent notes. He uses terms without explaining or defining them. When he does explain/define a term, the definition is either incomprehensible, or uses so many terms interchangeably as to render all of them meaningless.

About the Author
William Cunningham is an Emeritus Professor at the University of Minnesota where he taught for 36 years in the Departments of Botany and Genetics and Cell Biology as well as the Conservation Biology Program, the Institute for Social, Economic, and Ecological Sustainability, the Center for Environmental Learning and Leadership, and the McArthur Program in Global Change. He received his Ph.D. in Botany from the University of Texas in 1963 and spent two years at Purdue University as a postdoctoral fellow. At various times, he has been a visiting scholar in Sweden, Norway, Indonesia, and China, as well as several universities and research institutions in the United States. Dr. Cunningham has devoted himself to education and teaching development at the undergraduate level in biology. He began his educational career in structural biology but for the last 10-15 years has concentrated on environmental science, teaching courses such as Social Uses of Biology; Garbage, Government, and the Globe; Environmental Ethics; and Conservation History. Within the past four years, he has received both of the two highest teaching honors that the University of Minnesota bestows -- The Distinguished Teaching Award and a $15,000 Amoco Alumni Award. He has served as a Faculty Mentor for younger faculty at the university, sharing the knowledge and teaching skills that he has gained during his distinguished career.

Mary Ann Cunningham teaches geography and geographic information systems (GIS), and environmental studies at Vassar College, Poughkeepsie, NY. Her research involves using GIS to assess landscape-level problems in conservation and biodiversity. In particular, she is interested in understanding the nature of fragmentation in grassland environments and the effects of fragmentation on the make-up of bird communities. The agricultural landscapes where she has been working represent a complex and fascinating interaction of issues concerning working landscapes, resource use, remnant wildlife habitat, and landscape aesthetics. It is at the intersection of these issues that she likes to try and understand the geography of physical environments. Mary Ann earned a PhD in Geography at the University of Minnesota, an MA in Geography at the University of Oregon, and a BA in Geology at Carleton College.

Good Textbook.

This textbook was a bit stuffy for me but it was still a good educational tool.

"Principles of Environmental Science" covers many environmental issues and problems that have been a part of the ES community for some time, as well as some issues that are newly developing. It takes a very global look at things and then brings it all together by helping the reader to truly understand the connection the reader has to this global environment.

The price beats what most college bookstores charge. I always reccommend purchasing online it could cut the cost of the book in half. However if your going to purchase your college book online you should visit the college bookstore and find out what the instructor requires for the class a few weeks ahead of time so you dont get stuck paying for expedited shipping.

Dan Kainen is an artist, designer, and inventor living in New York City. He is the creator of the bestselling Photicular books Safari, Ocean,Polar, and Jungle. His website is DanKainen.com.

While working with some of the pioneers of holography, Dan created a special spotlight that was used by Soho’s Museum of Holography to light holograms. Instead of my feet carrying me forward, backward,or to the side, travel in any direction is possible by kicking 18-inch fins (45.7-cm). Scuba diving allows me into this alternate universe, 50 feet (15.2 m) below the surface of the Caribbean Sea off the coast of Belize. I’ve been a certified diver for nearly a decade. But for my own safety, I explore the undersea world with experienced dive masters. They also know about the ocean, and what lives in it. Today,I’m diving with an amazing guide: Francisco Linarez grew up in a small village called Independence, close to the Placencia Peninsula where we are diving today. Francisco is a grand dive master in a country known for good diving. He regularly swims with whale sharks when they come to southern Belize each year during spawning season. The largest fish in the sea, they can reach up to 40 feet in length (12.2 m). Some years ago, a hammerhead shark swam right into Francisco’s hest. He is unflappable. I’m always a little afraid to be in the big, neverending ocean. That first big step or a backward roll off a swaying boat is a leap of courage, if not faith. But after Francisco connects my breathing regulator to the air tank, and I reassure myself that the tank truly contains breathable air, that my mask isn’t leaking and salt water won’t spit into my contact lenses, I suck in a big gulp of air and descend. Once I’m in that purely liquid space and shades of blue envelop every line of vision, and that first fish passes by, I know exactly what will happen. I will forget to be scared.

Cool book

It has pictures that "move" when you flip the pages and each page also has text that describes the animal in the picture. I bought this to give to my 5-year-old niece for a Christmas present and I think she's going to love it. Note that you can't watch the video on mobile devices.

This book is absolutely AMAZING! As you turn the pages the pictures "come to life" as if you are watching a short video!
Normally when I purchase a gift on Amazon I just have them wrap it and send the gift directly to the person, but as a Christmas present I bought a few of these "Photicular" books and wanted to wrap them myself..
I was simply amazed when I looked through it! Even my Husband had to come over and see for himself.
Not only would I recommend these as a gift, I would suggest having them be delivered to you first so you can enjoy them before you give them away!

Great Book! Brought this for my Mom and Dad

Great Book! Brought this for my Mom and Dad, who are pretty much housebound due to their age. Dad was an amateur photographer so he really enjoyed it. It made my Mom smile. She's been ill for some time, so anything I can do to brighten her spirits is a good thing.

I also bought the Photicular book SAFARI, which is out now, and pre-ordered POLAR, which should be out soon...

This book is great for all ages!
