About the Author
"Chan S. Park" is currently a Professor of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Auburn University. He received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in industrial engineering from Purdue University and the Georgia Institute of Technology, respectively. Over his 25-year academic career, he has been actively involved in a variety of areas of research, teaching, and professional consulting. His work has been recognized internationally in the fields of engineering economics, strategic and economic decisions within service sectors, financial engineering (real options valuation), risk analysis, and capital budgeting. He also authored or coauthored leading textbooks on the related subjects, including "Contemporary Engineering Economics" (Prentice Hall), and "Advanced Engineering Economics" (John Wiley & Sons). He is the Editor-in-Chief of the journal "The Engineering Economist" and is a licensed Professional Engineer.

About the Author

Jim Stone is an Associate Professor of Photography at the University of New Mexico. His photographs have been collected by the Museum of Modern Art and The Smithsonian American Art Museum, among many others.�Books of his work include Stranger Than Fiction (Light Work, 1993),Historiostomy (Piltdown Press, 2001), and Why My Pictures are Good (Nazraeli Press, 2005).

He has also published six higher education titles that are widely used in university courses: A User�s Guide to the View Camera, Darkroom Dynamics, Photography, Photography: The Essential Way, A Short Course in Photography, and A Short Course in Digital Photography.

Barbara London has authored and co-authored many photography books from their first editions to their current ones, including Photography, Photography: The Essential Way, A Short Course in Photography, A Short Course in Digital Photography, The Photograph Collector's Guide, and more.

John Upton, Professor Emeritus, was for many years Chair of Photography at Orange Coast College, one of the largest photography departments in the U.S. He has curated a number of exhibitions, including Color as Form: A History of Color Photography. His work is included in many private and public collections, including the New York Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art.

Essential Info for the Beginning Photog

The "Photography" textbook series seems to be the best in the business, but are also the most expensive. "Photography: The Essential Way" is a less expensive but still fully thorough text for photography beginners.

Before buying this, I compared the table of contents of this book to the 9th and earlier editions of "Photogrpahy". From what I could tell, then and now, there isn't a whole lot missing. I work with digital files, so I didn't need info on developing my own film, though it might still be mentioned in this version. The important topics of lighting, focus, aperture, f/stop, etc. are all included.

If you get this book instead of the fuller texts, you still shouldn't miss much.

An Excellent Photo Primer!

I'm well into this book and it is hard to find fault with it, except perhaps the expensive price tag! I picked up the 2008 edition and it was great going over basics, such as the camera and lens, exposure control, film and sensors, and getting real life photos as examples. At the end of each chapter is a short bio of a professional photographer who embodies what the previous chapter discussed.

What software to use, what lighting in certain situations and even some history of photography is reviewed. A very practical, if large and imposing book, both for the film and digital photographer!

Recommended.

Long lost book

My father had this book in our library when I was 13. I lent it to a friend in the 7th grade who never returned it. As a result I have been searching for the same copy since COLLEGE. When I found this book I was amazed and thrilled that there was still a copy out there...delivery was speedy and the book was in great condition.

Ellie Anderson is the main character. Her best friend is Sarah Wilkins.

I like these books mostly for the fun, cozy relationships and the fun times the teens have.

Ellie has a job after school at the library, shelving books. She meets an interesting guy named Brian. A young girl was murdered two years ago. Ellie has visions pertaining to this girl. She is determined to solved the mystery of the murder with her visions. Part of the mystery is what does Brian, if anything, have to do with the murder? And what about Brett? These questions are answered in this book.

Ellie Anderson has visions of things that happened in the past and things that will happen in the future. Ellie thought her visions were really cool, until they meddled with her love life. Ellie promises herself that her new life in Shadyside will not be ruined by visions. But Ellie's promise is broken when her visions lead her to a dead body in the Fear Street Woods. Now she must find the murderer before he finds her first.
When I finished reading this book, all I could say was 'Wow.' It was a fantastic Fear Street book! It had several different genres. Horror, mystery, suspense, romance, and adveenture. Let's not forget the surprise ending. That was shocking. Out of all of the main characters in the book, it was that guy. You'll never be able to guess it.

I think the mind reader is a real good book because it keeps you geussing on who did it and how did they do that. What I like about the book the most is that the main character. Ellie deals with stuff that every day people whould do just not finding the bodys and have visons but some people do have visons. I could read this book 1,000 times and I bet if you read it once you would read it again. so if I were you I would read it.
