Awesome Resourceful Book

Very Resourceful book. This book has a wide variety of scholarships to meet you at every stage of your educational level. Whether you are fresh out of high school, or going back, it's here. They even have scholarships you can apply for as early as middle school. I love how the beginning of the book list scholarship tools and information and the importance of applying for scholarships. I definitely recommend this book.

Very helpful information. I think the layout could be greatly improved on, however. For example, in the section where the scholarships are listed by location, why not actually sort them by location? In other words, have all the scholarships applicable to Iowa grouped together. I don't need to sort through 150 pages of stuff that is mostly irrelevant to me.

About the Author
Marc Humphrey earned his PhD in physics from Harvard University. While there, he discovered his love of teaching, for which he received numerous teaching awards. Over the past 10 years, he has explained science to non-scientists during his day jobs at the Centers for Disease Control, the National Academy of Sciences, the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Department of Energy, and the International Atomic Energy Agency. He also served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Mali. Today he lives in Vienna with his wife and two very curious children.

Goes just far enough past the basics. Lively and thorough.

This book does an excellent job of explaining the history of quantum physics and the transition from classical physics, and explains in very easily understandable terms where we get such concepts as complimentarity, wave functions, entanglement and more. The book also does a great job of not getting too bogged down in the maths while avoiding the overly metaphysical approach many other popular accounts of quantum physics take. I did, however, notice two or three typos, and the pictures of Pauli and Dirac are in each others respective bios, so maybe the editor could have been a little less sloppy. But overall, this is the best account I've read so far for anyone who wants to dig a little further into quantum physics, but not too far.

Makes perfect sense

After reading the book, my wife and I decided to give the diet a try (excluding the enema) just to see what effect it would have on us. To our surprise, we lost weight without exercise, and our blood pressure dropped to it's lowest level in years. My wife even has expressed that she has more energy throughout the day and has not have had to take allergy medicine nearly as frequent as she used to. What I found interesting was that once you start eating a healthier diet, you cannot go back to the junk food without getting sick. To me this really illustrated that the human body needs and wants the foods that are listed in the book. I'll admit that it is difficult at first to make the changes in the way we eat and we are not quite there as of yet, but it all makes perfect sense. While we are not doing the enemas at this time, we are not ruling them out in the future. But if you are fighting obesity, diabetes,or high blood pressure and have an open mind, this book is well worth it.

Also loaded with facts that will help you stick with the routine because you will know the why's behind the what-to-do's. The information is captivating so that you won't want to put the book down and you'll be motivated to get started. Includes a precise schedule and recipes.

if you can find it cheap, buy it!

If you're into the Gerson therapies, this book is pretty much a must-have. The problem is the price. It covers Gerson principles as it applies to three health topics: Obesity, Diabetes and High Blood Pressure. Gerson Media has now divided this information up into three books, which of course means you have to pay for three books instead of just one [this one being now out of print]. The protocols of the therapy don't change per se, so this is just as good as having the three under one cover [according to 'Marcus' - the fellow I talked to at Gerson Media].

Anatomy Phys. 2B Best Friend

What I found in my first semester of A&P for pre-med was that the best way to study this topic (once you have the basics of a chapter down) is to be quizzed. The more times a student can have their knowledge challenged verbally or written the better. There is a problem with certain topics where a student reaches a threshold of stress, knowledge, and repetition and they lose perspective on what they THINK they know, and what they ACTUALLY have in long term memory. I picked up this book tonight at Barnes and Noble, and one of the reasons I am writing this review is because I needed to find the Amazon link to give to my friends in class with me. Any student going over the systems, in particular, will probably end up doing better on their tests with this book. The book is a makeshift exam, with answers in the back. It has multiple choice, diagrams, crossword puzzles, fill in the blank, etc. It is from another publisher, but it follows my college text perfectly. *It will not teach you anything*. It will only reinforce it, which ends up being the hardest part of this subject. I think my Professor would do well to have a similar book for his class. Good luck!

Good book for nursing students

This book came packaged nicely and didn't have any ripped or bent pages, and also came early! I was very pleased and had no problems with ordering or shipping. As far as the book goes, I think this is a good study guide, but should be used with the textbook that goes along with it. I feel like some stuff was left out from the textbook that could be important which is why I gave it 4 stars. When I say stuff is left out, this is an example of what I mean: give three or four examples of systems in the human body. There are 11 systems and I would like to know all 11, not just three or four. If I wanted to rely on only this workbook to study from I would have to write in everything that is left out A lot of questions are like this. However, it asks the questions differently and makes you think, instead of simply defining things. I'm using this as a co-req for nursing and I like it. The answer's are in the back of the book in case you are unsure, and the website listed on the front cover is also very helpful, fun, and user friendly.

The workbook is very useful. it also help you to check your information and knowledge about the subject. I would say it is a must have!! It is very very helpful for exams.
