Review
Deputy Headteacher Liz McGowan, from St Francis RC Primary School in Gorton Manchester said of 50 Ways To Retell A Story: Cinderella: We are loving the Cinderella book - so many fab. ideas, all of which are really grounded in a true understanding of how to improve children's writing through highly engaging approaches. It is also great to be able to see further applications of this approach with other stories/books and across the curriculum.A" Sue Roberts, Year 3 and 4 teacher at Red Hill CE Primary School, Worcester planned a half-term's literacy using the ideas in 50 Ways to Retell a Story: Cinderella and tied in an end-of-term school production, ' Cinderella Rockerfella'. She said: The writing opportunities which the children have had with this approach to our performance have been many, memorable and varied. The children have been completely immersed in their work and in particular reluctant writers have been enthused and inspired. At parents evening it was the main topic of conversation with the parents who were overwhelmed by the amount of school they were hearing about at home compared to normal. Your book was the main inspiration for this enterprise. We know the children think Literacy is fun when we have this approach - thank you for all of your ideas!A"

Brilliant inspiration for teaching narrative and cohesion
By PeterRoberts
Loved seeing all the different ways you could tell the story. I'll be using some with my class after Christmas. I think they'll favour the short versions, not realising that they are the most difficult. Can't wait to see what they do to Goldilocks or Jack and the Beanstalk.
